.:Dinner at the Simmon’s Home:.

•November 25, 2008 • 2 Comments

Sunday night Kelly and Michael Simmon invited me over to join them for dinner. I brought my camera knowing I would have to get some shots of their littlest guy Zach, and his two older brothers Drew and Jack. These three little guys are awesome. At first I think they were a little shy, but that didn’t not last long. They were calling me “Mr. Phillip”. Each of them loves to have there picture taken. My camera has the ability to make a quick voice memo for each photo I take. They thought it was the coolest thing to be able to record and listen to their voice coming out the camera. We tried to get little Zach to say something into the camera, but he was content with seeing himself on the display. Drew and Jack were super excited for me to see there room. They have an awesome setup. Lots cool toys and super hero stuff decorated their room. I was jealous.

Kelly is a fabulous cook. She made a delicious rosemary chicken and potatoes that didn’t disappoint.

The boys had a book that is full things all boys should know and be able to do. There was a section on paper planes, so I made them a couple paper airplanes that my Granddad taught me how to make when I was their age.

Thank you Michael and Kelly for having me over and getting to share a night with your wonderful family.

.:Lexi & Sara’s Senior Photos:.

•November 12, 2008 • 2 Comments

Tuesday I had my first high school senior photo shoot with Lexi and Sara. I’ve known Lexi and Sara for over two years now. They are in the youth group I help lead at North Ridge Community Church. We actually first attempted to do the shoot on Sunday afternoon, but it happened to be one of the only days during the year when it’s ridiculously windy here in Phoenix. Sara and Lexi were great, they were pros in front of the camera. I’m sure it comes from all the church trips we’ve been on when they insist on being in every single photo I take. Make sure to check out the slideshow for more of my favorite shots from the day.

.:Visit from the Family:.

•November 6, 2008 • 3 Comments

Last weekend my family from Texas came out to visit my sister and I. We went up to Sedona and stayed at the Los Abrigados Resort. It was a beautiful and relaxing weekend. We did a little hiking, took a helicopter ride over Sedona, and went up to the Grand Canyon for a day. They had never been to Arizona before, and were spoiled by the beauty of the red rock country. My parents loved it so much that they bought a time share in Sedona, which I’m looking forward to using for some weekend getaways. It was good to be able to spend time with the fam, especially this weekend.

First helicopter ride! Absolutely breathtaking views over Sedona. Special thanks to Don, with Arizona Helicopter Adventures, for a great time.

It was really challenging to get some quality photos while in the cockpit. I had to fight the glare and haze from the windshield.

Leaving the Canyon we saw a couple of elk on the side of the rode. I was surprised to be able to get this close. Shot this with my 24-70 lens.
